Shopping in Turunc is laid back and hassle free - unlike other larger resorts. The shops in Turunc will provide most wants of the average tourist - Leather Goods, Jewelery, Clothing and general souviners can all be had - but remember - haggling is the name of the game to get a good bargain! Haggling is expected - it's fun and certainly can provide some entertainment!
If you are looking for something special you may have to go in to Marmaris - the shopping there provides a lot more choice - but comes with the addition of Hassle! Try the Old Bazzar area of Marmaris - 2 minutes from the ferry. Admittedly, it can be busy and at times a little hassling - but there are plenty of shops to choose from. Try the Sultan Bar for a pit stop - food and beer both good! Avoid being there mid-day / early afternoon - very busy - my advice is to get in and out early - and enjoy the peacefulness of Turunc.

The Mini - Markets in Turunc provide all that you need if you are self catering. Prices are cheaper than the UK especially for Bread, Butter, Milk, Cheese, Fruit etc. Prices are fixed in these outlets - so forget haggling - any where else it's okay to haggle.

Designer clothes and accessories can be readily bought in virtually all the shops - in nearly all cases these will not be the genuine article - but good imitation copies!! Be warned, you might be subject to some overspending on your budget!!! Ghenkis Khan the watchman is well worth a visit for both watches and crystal. My imitation rolex is still going strong after 4 years - not bad for a fiver!!!

Honey and beauty products have increased in popularity over recent years - shop around - you'll be suprised at the prices - and so would a major UK Body retailer!!! As you walk around the village you will come across the odd table with honey products displayed - accompanied by an honesty box!
Of course no trip to Turkey would complete without taking home the obligatory Turkish Delight! Some of the varieties you can buy in the village are really quite fantastic - nothing like the usual bland stuff we are used to. Try the Aanotolian spice shop by the bridge in the high street - he has some really good bargains. Next door to him is a Towel and baby wear shop - again there are bargains to be had here!

Market shopping is always fun - and it is no different in Turkey! Turunc, Icemeler and Marmaris all have market days - they can be useful to visit and compare prices before making your final purchases! The colours, banter and crowds of a market can while away a few hours!

Turkish rugs are always a popular item for some tourists. My advice to those who are thinking of purchasing them is to make sure that you are buying something which is authentic and comes with a genuine certification! Many people buy these items as an investment - which often fail's to be the case! Remember the item is only worth what you are willing and comfortable to pay for it at the time of purchase - nothing more - and certainly not on the hope of a speculative transaction!
